Cell Phones first originated in the 1920’s but the first cell phone was not created until 1973 by Martin Cooper. They where very expensive fairly big, heavy and the reception was very low in quality making them very unpractical. The FCC actually had to regulate the amount of cell phone calls to twenty three at a time due to the limit of frequencies that where available at the time so that made them even more unpractical, as well as in my opinion, a pain.
